Big news about the juggling festival:
1. Bonus Juggling Night: Tony D. won't let in one-time visitors (we asked nicely), so we're moving the juggling club for one night only to accommodate early-arriving festival guests. Thursday night, April 2, whether you're a regular or a visitor, do not go to Carmine/Tony D!! Meet at the Pratt Student Union, 8-11pm (maybe earlier). It's free and open to the public. (Neither of those things are true of the normal Thursday night club.) For directions, see the main site. If you have questions, post or call. NOTE: This is for NEXT WEEK (not tomorrow). Huge thanks to Matt from Pratt for setting it up.
2. Show Additions: The show line-up at http://jugglenyc.com/09fest/fest_show.html is now complete. We've added two outstanding performers. From Quebec the reclusive, Francis Julien, has created a new act just for us, and from Japan via Queens, Kenichi Ebina will be dancing. If you've seen Kenichi at the Apollo Theater, Bindlestiff Family Cirkus, the Box, or elsewhere, you know what a treat this will be.
3. Marcus Monroe: NYC's "Gonzo Juggler" Marcus Monroe has agreed to host the late show Saturday night. Leave your inhibitions and your kids at home, because anything goes at this late-night "Renegade" show.
4. Help: We still need volunteers, and we especially need housing!! PLEASE if you are willing to let someone sleep on your couch, let us (Ross) know. You do not have to entertain them, feed them, pass with them, or give them a key to your apartment. Most people will be at the fest all day every day. They just need a place to sleep. If you're willing to work the show, tell me. If you're willing to teach a workshop or help at the registration table, tell Matt.
