I was buried by a tidal wave of work and crisis at the Rock this week. I couldn't make it to juggling.
This is what it is going to be like for me until sometime next year!
Yeah!

Figured you'd have to work in prep for your week off in the yurt. That's where I told Ray you were when he asked why I was getting the boom box instead
of you. Well, I said "on vacation" instead of "in a yurt" because that sounds, you know, nuts.
I got distracted writing up a cue sheet for a job I'm doing in October. It's been hanging over my head a while and I was psyched to get it done, but it probably could have waited till after juggling as it made me late. I've got to work on my time management. Crowd was light but included Alex from England, who claims he stayed with me in 2003. I was quite the JuggleStay destination for English jugglers at the time and am embarrassed to admit I have no memory of this. He admits he looks totally different, but as he says he had dyed pink hair, you'd think I'd remember. Also there was 14-year-old Jonathan from Chapaqua, whom I didn't meet, but I introduced myself to his aunt and mother, with whom I'd been emailing. I meant to ask him to pass later in the evening, but after an hour of solo juggling, Jack and Chloe asked me to pass, so I did. It's fun to see how they interact and to see Jack get frustrated. Chloe brought a guy we think was her boyfriend, but nobody wanted to scare them all away by asking. Jack claims he's coming out to dinner with us next week, which will be his first time ever coming out after Carmine! Speaking of dinner, when Robin heard we were going to the same place as last time he decided not to come. If he's expecting variety, we may not be the right group. Paris was the first one upstairs setting up. He added two little tables to the round table, and then, with the full choice of where to sit at the empty table configuration, he promptly sat at the crack formed inside the tangent. He's awesome. Turns out we didn't need the little tables as only nine of us made it to Empire Szechuan. There the waiter said he's come up with a Chinese nickname for me. I didn't understand it, but I still almost cried. Robert told us about lucking into most of a free car, and I predicted my death by someone else's annoyance. Viviana was very excited to hear EJC is in Finland next year, and since it's the same week as IJA we may have another mass defection a la Primm. Sean also loves Finland. Think that was about it. |
