These are the few weeks of the year when the Tony-D rec center gym is really great temperature-wise. There was a light breeze coming in through the pad locked windows and the killer humidity of summer had worked its way out of the gym's atmosphere. Although there were a bunch of people playing basketball when I arrived, they cleared out when asked with out the usual rancor. In fact, one of the guys was actually curious about what a juggling club was.
Anyway, I worked with a volley ball for a while. Nothing great. I felt really weak. I haven't been practicing enough lately. That, and I am now convinced that my days of making real progress while juggling are over. I just don't get to practice regularly anymore and my body is definitely slowing down. My reflexes just are not what they once were. I did get 10 head bounces with the volleyball while juggling 5 balls. I guess that is good. I dunno, I know I'm supposed to bounce and juggle completely independently from one another. But the head bounce is all about rhythm between the bounce and the juggling for me. I over inflated my ball at one point and decided to try it like that. It felt like a rock.
I worked on club juggling for a bit at the end too. Nothing much. Just trying to have some fun with my Henry's.
There were only about 12-14 of us at juggling. A slow night, but pretty much par for course these days. The gym was pretty empty in general. Viveana's mom came along with Paul and Viveana.
There was one new woman at juggling. Who was named, uh, I can't remember. Emily? I think that was it. Amazingly, one of Paris's dropped juggling balls careened out of control and almost hit her despite the fact that Paris was all the way across the room. Wow. Gravity. It is a strong natural force. Emily, if that is your name, welcome. Hope you come back.
We went out to 'New-New' Chinese afterwards, because Paul wasn't there. Know what? That restaurant is FANTASTIC! I love it. Viveca and I split cumin beef, spicy fish and silken tofu and some bok choi. Taaaaa-ssssty. Just spicy enough. I've just got the slightest bit of a ring-of-fire today, but it was worth it. That restaurant can be hit or miss with their dishes. But when they hit? BAMMMM! So good.
Marcus is ripped after his new workout program. A lean mean juggling machine. Way to go buddy. You've got to keep lifting to beat Sean's 37 pound biceps, but you can get there my friend!
